Kristine M. Alpi is Director of the William Rand Kenan, Jr. Library of Veterinary Medicine and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Population Health & Pathobiology at North Carolina State University (NCSU). Formerly Associate Library Director at the rank of Associate Librarian and Lecturer in Public Health in the Department of Public Health at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City, she holds a Masters of Public Health from Hunter College, City University of New York (CUNY), and a Masters of Library Science from Indiana University. She is a doctoral student in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Human Development in the College of Education at NCSU.

A 1997-98 Associate Fellow of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), Alpi served as an Educational Collaborator with the National Center for Biotechnology Information, a member on the steering committee of the Partners in Information Access for the Public Health Workforce, as part of the NLM Planning Panel on Clinical & Public Health Information Systems for the 21st Century, and as a reviewer on the NLM Biomedical Library and Informatics Review Committee Grant Study Section from 2011-2015. A Distinguished member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals, Alpi teaches in the Medical Library Association (MLA) Continuing Education program, previously chaired the Research Section and Public Health/Health Administration Section of MLA, and served on the MLA Board of Directors from 2014-2016.
